Ace Lagos based award winning singer, Zeek9ine was formerly known by a stage name Prof Jay. The Benue born star rose to stardom following the release of his first debut album dubbed Fly Your Flag. EARLY LIFE
Zeek9ine was born on 9th of July in the early nineties; to the reputable family of late Mr Ogbu Sylvester popularly known as Enumenume of Omaga Adiko Ito, Obi local government area of Benue State. While growing up, the talented afrobeat star was a lover of music and what was his hobby turned out to be his major career. He joined the then music group led by Mr Yukay called The Plain Boys and Zeek9ine remained the only artiste who doubled as a rapper and a singer, during their Secondary School days. The Hakuna Matata crooner followed this passion till he finished his secondary school, traveled back to Abuja and the rests are history till date.
EDUCATION
He attended L.G.E.A Karimo Sabo Primary School, FCT, Abuja and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He however traveled back home and proceeded immediately to Ediwe Memorial College (later Double Tree Secondary School), Adum-East Ito and he obtained his SSCE Certificate. He obtained diploma in Marketing and Business Management from YT Business school, Lagos in 2015 and the adventurous singer has since then been consistent with his craft.
CAREER
ISADA’s Song of the Year 2019 winner began his music journey in 2007, when he joined the then Plain Boys Crew. He however began professionally in 2011 when he released his first single titled…… His first certified body of work which remain a classic album till date is Fly Your Flag released in 2017. The album which was released under his self owned record label, MBM is one of the best albums ever recorded in the history of Igede secular music.

Zeek continued with hit songs and broke into the afrobeat charts with Sixteen Me with it’s visuals shot by award winning video director, Wisechild Vision in 2019. The song went viral and gave him numbers of shows in the entertainment capital, Lagos. In an interview with Agba TV, he revealed that he decided to change his stage name from Prof Jeezy to Zeek9ine. He said he prefers his first name ‘Isaac’ which is a shortened to have Zeek.

2022 was a another year the super star redefined his musical prowess, with the release of a smash classic body of work dubbed; “9’Oclock”. The 5 tracker extended play got thousands of streams across all digital platforms since it’s release. The Bad Shy Guy released the visuals to the hit track, Hakuna Matata immediately the Ep dropped. The video which was directed by Bright has since then been massively viewed.
Still on his project, 2023 launched the singer with Kalamazoo feelings and the music industry would rather catch the fire of the irresistible sound.
